Your photo doesn’t have to be perfect.
Some of the most meaningful moments aren’t captured with a professional camera. Sometimes the only photo you have is a little blurry, poorly lit, or quickly snapped on a phone and that’s okay.
This painting began with a dark cell phone photo. I used it as a reference, pulling from the shapes, colors and details that were there while using my experience as a painter to bring the moment to life in a completely new way.
A reference photo doesn’t have to be worthy of a frame. It just has to hold a moment worth remembering.
Have a photo you love, even if you don’t love the photo itself?
Let’s turn it into a painting!
