Peggy in the Sea is a series of maximalist shell still lifes inspired by the collection of my childhood neighbor, Peggy a woman whose life and identity were rooted in Shackleford Banks and the North Carolina coast. When she passed away, her lifetime of shells dispersed into the world. I painted this series from the shells that made their way to my home in New York, pairing them with bold patterned fabrics, strong light, and saturated complementary color. These paintings are a commentary on how love keeps traveling, long after someone is gone. They are a visual reminder that memory doesn’t vanish, it moves.
Each month, members receive a new 5×5 fine art print from my Peggy and the Sea series.
Along with your print, you’ll receive hand-picked stickers and a rotating mini cards featuring sea-inspired affirmations. These tiny pieces meant to be tucked into journals, pinned to walls, shared with loved ones or kept close.
